Virender Sehwag

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag recounts the memory of historic NatWest Trophy final in which India chased down England's massive 325.
Sehwag has opened the innings with Ganguly and scored 45. Sehwag described the incident of Sourav’s famous shirt waving celebration at the Lord’s balcony in the summer of 2002.
In an interview with the Lords website Sehwag was asked how Indian team reacted to Ganguly's shirt waving celebration after winning the humdinger match. Sehwag laughed and said he had seen Dada's six pack abs for the first time.
Sehwag, who recently bid adieu the game, stated that the victory over England, after chasing a mammoth total is the most special moment of his cricketing career. He said he would remember that win for his entire life.
The 37-year-old former opener also expressed his displeasure to miss out a chance to score a hundred at Lords against England early in 2002. Those people who scored hundred found their name on the Lords’ honour board. When Sehwag missed the hundred by 16 runs, Rahul Dravid, who was batting with Sehwag said, the opening batsman would regret forever for missing out this hundred at the Lord's.
Talking about the 2002 NatWest Trophy final the right-handed batsman said that they believed that they could win the match. Chasing the score he and captain Sourav built a 100 runs partnership in 15 overs, before they lost their wickets in the middle scored 45 and 60 respectively.
After a little collapse, Mohammed Kaif and Yuvraj Sigh scripted the victory. They built a 121 run partnership and shouldered the expectation of Indian fans and take the team on the brink of victory.
The moment when Zaheer Khan hit the winning runs, Sourav Ganguly broke into jubilation, took off his jersey and waved frantically. Ganguly wanted to take revenge of Flintoff's shirt waving celebration in Mumbai, just three ago of this finals after leveling  the ODI series 2-2.
Sehwag said India had gone into the final after eight finals defeats, so the victory at the Lord’s will always be special in his life.
