India announces replacement for Mohammad Shami in T20 series against Australia



The BCCI has just announced the replacement for Mohammad Shami for the T20 series against Australia starting from 26th January 2016. Uncapped fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been called as a replacement. Bumrah a fast bowler has been impressive in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy where he picked 5 wickets in the finals of the tournament against Delhi.
Jasprit Bumrah has played the IPL with the Mumbai Indians and has been impressive in that tournament too. He has got 14 wickets in nine matches in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. He has been impressive and provided with a chance by selectors to prove his mettle against Australia. The other T20 members which include Hardik Pandya, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and along with him will leave for the T20 series on 22nd January.
This will be a great chance for the youngster to impress the selectors. He was supposed to replace Shami in the One-day International series but Bhuvneshwar Kumar was called as a replacement in the squad.
India will start the T20 series on 26th January, the second one to be played on 29thJanuary at Melbourne and the third one at the SCG on 31st January. India is placed 8thin T20 rankings and will be looking for an impressive show in the series after losing the One day International series.
He has been playing Gujarat has picked 52 wickets in 47 T20 matches. He made his debut in 2013. He has featured for Gujarat in 18 first class matches and 20 List A matches.
Mohammad Shami was injured during practice and could be forced out for four to six weeks. India’s bowling has been struggling without him.
